Louise Fleet is a former High Sheriff of West Glamorgan (2017) and has lived in Sketty for more than 40 years. A serving magistrate on the West Glamorgan Bench (appointed in 1993) she has undertaken a wide range of magistrates’ roles including Deputy Chairman of the Bench and Chairman of the Family Panel. She has worked for Swansea University, the City & County of Swansea and the Wales Audit Office, retiring in 2018.
Louise has strong local links within the community and voluntary sector. She is a trustee of Neath Port Talbot Council for Voluntary Services, Thrive Women’s Aid and Tenovus Cancer Care. She is chair of the management committee of the Neath Port Talbot Child Contact Centre, and an independent member of the Neath Port Talbot Council Standards Committee. She is an Ambassador for the charity Loud Applause Rising Stars; Patron of Swansea Samaritans; and Vice-President of Morriston RFC Male Voice Choir.
Louise’s many interests include golf and she represented Wales at international level. She served as the first Chair and then President of the Golf Union of Wales (now Golf Wales) and was a director of Ryder Cup Wales (2010) Ltd. She is a member of Pennard Golf Club, the Royal Liverpool Golf Club and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
